Splitting Adgroups by match type

I have been running adwords for some time and having read around I have come to the conclusion that it is probably time to split my top performing keywords out in to their own adgroups. I have started on this but I have a few questions :

    1) I am making an adgroup for each match type. Whilst I am getting some impressions on these keywords there are a few keywords that are marked as not showing because another advert is showing for these keywords. Are the following keywords the same?

    [e.machine]
    [e machine]
    [e-machine]

Yeah, it doesn't count punctuation in keywords. I'd split ad groups by keyword relevance rather than match type though.

The dash is not a punctuation so "e machine" and "e-machine" are seen as two different keywords.
