Spliting large tar file into small files

    Hello friends,

    i have this site to transfer. Total data is 15 gb.

    I have root access on my server but only shell access on other server where i am transferring from.

    Is there any easy way to do this transfer?

    right now i made tar file from all the files but its over 15gb and i tried to do server to server transfer of that tar files but failed after it reached 75% (12 hours of work went all in vain)

    now i was thinking making it split so that i can transfer small files....

    can you please guide me if there is an easy way to transfer or split these files
