Split free diskspace on Dedicated box into VPS account containers?

I have a spare dedi server with linux and cpanel

There is too much space on it to wholly devote it to cpanel accounts. Is there a way of splitting the server and using half the diskspace to offer 4/5 vps accounts? Or should I keep VPS and cpanel account on different machines? Just trying to make the most of the space for a limited time!

What software do I need to do this? Is it possible?

i.e. 500gb raid drives. 250gb for cpanel accounts then make 250gb availabel for say 5 x 50gb VPS accounts?

Do you using LVM partition now? If yes, it really simple to create a partition from free space..

I would suggest you keep your cpanel and vps containers on different boxes.
