I tried searching for this one but couldn't find the answer. Are the signatures spidered in this forum?
I'm not sure about the recent blog links are though, I have had one setup for a while now as a test and it has failed to be indexed.
thanks for that Wendy, I dont really have much interest in blogging. Just use them to test out things
I tend to do this: Set up site, use Add url page in google, then put in my signature here.. that has worked so far an is not a bad way to get listed.
I have a brand new site and placed signature links in the forums I frequent on Monday, I just checked and already have 2 links from Digital Point, 2 from Freehosttalk and 2 from Sitepoint. Nothing from any other forum yet. Both MSN and Yahoo show these ..... of course Google don't show any but at least the site has been spidered by Google twice a day this week. In fact Google found it the same day I placed my signature links, MSN and Yahoo arrived a day or two later. So yes signature links work and very quickly if they are on sites that the bots frequent daily.
Is this spidering standard on all .php forums, becasue I've not spotted it working in other ones I frequent? I'm guessing maybe the forum meister here has to enabled such a feature by removing robot tags? Probably wrong though. :0
No, it isn't standard on forums by any means, which is why I asked. Many forums allow spidering of posts but not the signature links.
Yeah, you have to pay me a million $ in untraceable, large denomination notes. Or you could just look in the UserCP in the bit that says Edit Signature.
You need to have 10 posts before this option is available http://forums.digitalpoint.com/faq.php?faq=dp_faq#faq_signatures
