Spider index limit question

So I've heard now in multiple places from multiple people to keep pages under 100k to make sure the spiders will index it all. Do images count against that 100k? I'm assuming not, since the image size doesn't really matter in the code, but I figured I'd ask since the engines are indexing images for their image search features.

I'm kind of hoping they do count against it, though--got a client who has a couple of large animation images on their home page, and when I advised them that it was impacting their load time, they didn't seem to care (guess that's what happens when finance guys run online companies... :D ).

    Thanks.

No by 100k, They mean 100k worth of code. Not actual image size or anything.

    So your html coding.

But there is some evidence that they the google spider 2 googlebot v2 reads and follows css aswell.

Which means it alot of possible good things :)
