Correct, Twitter was supposed to be used for networking, blogs promotion on it won't work, users always consider it as a spam, and they may block you. Careful while you're tweeting!
Most of my twitter messages are automated and i spend a lot less time than i used to yet i have over 50,000 followers and i have been on there less than six months. sam X
Being human or Twitter is one of the most important factors in successful networking! Making all your messages automated makes people feel like they're chatting to a bot.. Personally I unfollow each of these kind of users!
We post all our little "updates" on Twitter.. those are pretty dry and mainly we do it to have them documented and because that's what we'd like to see from other Tweeters (?) But, we try to include funny or informative things from time to time just to show it's not really a marketing tool where we're trying to sell anyone on anything.. more of a convenient way to track what we're doing in case it's useful to the follower
For all those who say twitter isn't generating money. I make $150+ a day with it and have been for two months now. I took me 1 month to learn everything there was to learn and another 2 weeks to implement. But after that I don't spend more than 2 hours a day on twitter and generate a dayjob killler.
