I've looked into this a bit, and realize that plugins can slow wordpress quite a bit. I have a few plugins running, but not all that many and haven't really noticed a big change when I deactivate them. Does anyone have any other "quick fix" suggestions on getting a wordpress site to load quicker? Thanks!
I would suggest installing a caching plugin such as wp-super cache. We suggest that one to all our clients and can really see a difference.
This may also help: http://haroldmansfield.com/common-reasons-why-your-wordpress-site-is-running-slow/ And try this plug in to scan your site for plug in and SQL query issues: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/p3-profiler/

Sometimes, the problem could be with your theme. If your WordPress Theme is poorly coded, you could be giving the web browsers a hard time. Plugins are only as good as the quality of coding done to your theme. Although, I strongly recommend you try a WordPress minifier, WP Total Cache or try using a CDN.
Hello, I would suggest to try the WP super cache plugin and also the wp optimizer that would help to optimize all your plugins and your database space. Hope that help
