I run http://www.topacousticsongs.com. I love music, love the site and get a solid 45k+ visitors a month. I want some ways to monetize. Music isn't the most lucrative industry online. So far I've done: - Google Ads -> very little money there - Music Poster affiliate -> no revenue after 2+ months - Newsletter -> don't know what to sell to them?? (I only have about 100 people on it) I've thought about: - Commission Junction/Clickbank/etc -> but affiliates (posters) have proven pretty weak - iTunes affiliate -> I only get about .05 a song though. Seems pretty weak (maybe not bad with my traffic though) Any thoughts/suggestions/new perspectives?
How about this: http://www.learnandmaster.com. The guitar course is supposed to the one of, if not the best music courses. Affiliate program at the bottom. Out of 45+k, I'm sure many are music players as well as music lovers. Hope this helps.
Also, if I were you, I'd offer something free to collect more email addresses to get that list a LOT bigger. Once you have it, there are tonnes of products you could recommend to them in the music niche.
A free e-book in return for email addresses would be one option to increase the mailing list. Having reviews of products c/w Amazon affiliate links is always a good ploy.
How about adding infolinks, I always earn more income from them compared to adsense, also offer space for advertisements if you get a lot of visitors I'm sure many people would love to advertise on your site
