Special search url's for BANS

    Hello,

I have a boat site with integrated BANS store.

Since boats are pretty expensive to ship I want to target specific areas.

The location of the boat is often not stated in the title so I cant just create a search query in the category.

How can I create a store page with the boats only located in California as an example. Every time I search I get the url www.domain.com/search.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jonas

I think you may need to wait for BANS 3.0, I believe it will allow you to target geographic areas. Should be coming out soon, I hope.

it might also be worth asking this question on the bans forum for a definitive answer.

The search mechanism is poorly done in BANS in my opinion. The search form is done via POST instead of a GET, so you can't create URLs that invoke the search function.

Not only is it frustrating for creating links, which naturally means PPC ads as well, it also means that you get a bunch of /search/ pages that show up in Google Analytics with no real idea of what was searched. I ended up hacking the code to show me (see my niche site link for details), but it is a hack.

I totally agree - they also get cached in Webmaster (especially with duplicate and "short" META description/title errors)
