This is a worry when I'm linking to sites like this: http://www*body-building-muscle.com/ Check the Index pages: http://www*body-building-muscle.com/index1.php http://www*body-building-muscle.com/index2.php http://www*body-building-muscle.com/index3.php http://www*body-building-muscle.com/index4.php http://www*body-building-muscle.com/index5.php Anyone agree this is against the co-op rules??
While I agree it looks "spamish", that really gets into a grey area of subjectiveness that I really would rather not have to deal with.
I see your point Shawn but I feel this is a "link farm" in anyones book... There is ZERO content just lots of links...that to me is a spam site - black & white, no grey! ...but your the boss!!
Those index pages are just sitemaps really, but the individual pages are all similar (lack of) content. They're targeting a list of Overture words, easy to tell because they stuck to the alphabetisized way of ordering the words within a phrase. Bit silly really. Google will deal with it eventually...
What do you mean 'days'? The internet is NOW! Near-duplicate content/spam won't be penalized or banned, just filtered out. Otherwise, all news sites will be banned and those 1 million people linking to CNN will be in trouble.
Good to see the rate at which the network is being refined under the drive of the membership. Always pleased to see people who believe into doing it NOW rather than in months. jema
I have a question. I'm not saying I have a site *just* like this, but, we are talking shades of gray here, right? ;-) If Google has indexed hundreds of pages for this site, and sends traffic to this site, and a site like this is running 5 links per page, then this site will be providing a lot of value to the co-op, right? Is it fair to short change the owner from receiving some value back? Of course I'd love to see a little more original content on web pages (I'm not talking about the site map pages that were mentioned in the first post -- let's see your sitemaps!--, but the internal content pages that are linked to by those site maps), but I just worry about the smug content Nazis who think no one offers real added value unless they are doing what "THEY" are doing. Like Tops30, I'm a little uneasy about both ends of this slippery slope. And I'd have a problem with "algorithmically" short changing a site, while "algorithmically" allowing it to continue to provide full value to the co-op. Though, Shawn, I'm not in a position to complain much about whatever you decide to do with your algorithms, as I feel like a fortunate guest invited to your party My two cents. Giblar
Be a snitch. If you hit any of those links from amaze's first post you'll notice, at least at the moment, that there is nothing there any more. Nick
