    Hi

I am considering having a site where I purchase targeted email addresses off a site then onselling these addresses to others. Do I face any legality issues here with this??
    Thanks

I am not sure if DPA covers this.

    Either way dont do it.

First off, were the email addresses collected legally? If people submitted their email addresses, were they told that they might be sold or shared with others?

Secondly, what are the terms and conditions of the sale of the email addresses to you? Are you allowed to share or resell the list?

Thirdly, reselling email address lists puts you in league with spammers - is your web host OK with that?

I'd say ethically it's a bad idea. Whether it's legal or not is going to depend on many details, including where you and your servers are located.

a bit off topic, but I've suspected many times that digital point either does this (resells our emails) or has a security flaw. I changed my email a couple times to new gmail addresses and within weeks started getting spam offering me webmaster-related products
