Spammers on Blogs - Come on, Have Some Sense!?!

I am getting increasingly irritated with people who comment on my blogs with spam. I have the letter verification set up on my blogs, so for a comment to be placed, it has to be an actual human that picks one of my blogs from the hundreds that are out there, physically clicks one of my posts with the deliberate intention of posting spam - WTF? I put a lot into my blogs to make sure that they contain quality information for my readers, and it really feels like some stranger coming into my house and just taking a dump on my living room floor and not saying sorry for just leaving that there.

Someone just left this comment on my blog:

http://NotTheRealWebsite.com - Everything you need to know about Akon: cool hits, fresh news, videos, lyrics, biography, discography, wallapapers and much more

The comment was made on a post about homeless people in the community I live in and how they tend to be disconnected from society because of the lack of access to a phone or ability to accept voice mails, all of which prevents them from finding a job or securing an apartment. The really ironic thing is that my post was a sponsored PayPerPost for discount calling cards - LOL If anyone is going to pimp out my blog, gosh darnit, it is going to be me - LOL :D

Why don't you just auto approve comments before they're posted?

I do auto-approve, but still it's annoying just seeing it in my moderator screen! I am just so tired of looking at spam ... LOL

Why don't you block the spammer's ip address? Are you using cpanel?

This happened on a blogger blog - and I should clarify that when I said I am sick of looking at spam, I meant all the spam everywhere - on this blog I only get it from time to time, but when you add all the spam in all my email accounts, all my blogs and wherever else I am exposed to discount drugs, Viagra, loan consolidations - it just is so overbearing - I really just needed to vent!

They have no sense hence they are spammers. I guess they are hoping they are automatically accepted. I had a forum I forgot about and wow 3500 members :)
