LOL first of all you spelt your title wrong. Spamming people to get visitors, is that what you meant? Yes - Spam is bad.
Yeah I hate spam. People who spam gain nothing, maybe a few quick visits to their websites, but in the long run they gain nothing.
I don't care too much for it, either, but all I have to do is to click on it one time to delete it. If it wasn't for sales, no matter what form it takes, our economy wouldn't be as strong as it is now. Yes, many times sales is a pain in the ass, but what would we have if it was taken away? You want to send off a sales pitch via e-mail? Go ahead and do it, but be smart about it.
I find it comical that YOU don't. Um, son, it's the same thing. It's just in a different form. A form that we don't like because it has been abused by so many people. Let me hear you laugh.
That's like saying murder is physical contact in a different form. Or rape is just affection in another form. The form something takes is rather important... You sound like you're 13 years old, so calling me "son" is just hilarious.
I understand what it is, I'm asking how you do it/how I can figure out how to do it. -Ugly eyeroll emoticon-
Spamming is neither bad nor correct, it's also one type of advertising. Breaking the rules(i.e. spamming in forum) is exception though
I like how you put this, but would you classify spamming social networks with links to viagra and etc count as appropriate "advertising".
Confined to Email spamming (not forum etc.) Email spamming is just like any other markeitng in a free market. If the spammers don't make money, they will not use the method, However, the cost is so low, they can get .001 response and still make money in some instances. EMail Spamming is a drain on computing and network resources. So, the question is, do we do something about it to prevent wealth erosion in the society (a societal loss) due to the misuse of computing and network resources or just ignore it for the sake of free market?
Spam sucks. Even if you rule out all the Nigerian money order scams and the British National Lottery scams, that still leaves the fact that spammers are filling up people's inboxes with junk that they neither requested, NOR can they unsubscribe from (without getting more spam). Plus its not even targeted to the audience (ie: women getting penis enlargement pills ads). And anyways, I think my $%$# is just fine sized, thank you.
