Spaming in comments

I have wordpress blog and i'm geting sick of spams in comments so what do you recomand me to use

I see Akismet but it whant an api key and i don't have one

Any alternatives ?

Why wouldn't you take 15 seconds and get a free key? Its the best one by far.

 

Yes, I agree. Simply sign up at wordpress.com and the key is sent. It helped eradicate 99% of spam on my blog(s). Highly recommended.

YEP! Totally! 20 spam comments blocked today already.

 

Well i finnaly did it and got an api and activated Akisment i got like 100 spam comments over night and got very nervous ...

Don't be nervous,Akismet works great.And don't forget to upgrade it to the latest version.

 

Yes it works great and now my inbox is not full with 50 stupiod mails evry day

This is a question for evryone else:

Can I take action against those who send spam comments?
I mean one of my blogspot blogs gets these kind of comments quite regularly..
They reduced only after I activated word verification..

I mean wtf its an educational blog and they spam it with their debt/mortgage site links!! Cant i do anything about those sickos?

 

What, no ringtones? That's all I get is fricken ring tone, and cell phone spam

 

naaah, havent got a ringtone till now. Mostly got debt/mortgage and one even for mesothelioma!!

 

Why not put in anti-spam word verification for wordpress?
