    Hey Guys,

    Im having a huge problem with spam on my VB forum I was just wondering is there any way to stop these I think automated sign ups of users like, iwantgirl or whateva that all they do is spam posts with porn and links....

    What settings should I put up for it to be like here in DP were relatively there is very little spam... speciall automated...

    I just turned on e-mail confirmation, but the image verification doesn't work on my server cause I don't have GD installed, how could I do this.

    Also how do I ban IPs in VB?

    You should get GD installed. There is an IP restriction somewhere in the administration I believe. But yeah, definitely try to get GD installed.

    GD is free to install. just look at the installation directions to figure out how to install it. It's easy to install. If you're not sure how to run a server, you should probably be running a managed server so you don't have to deal with all the installation of things too, just fyi.

    Yeah, I'd strongly recommend installing GD and turning image verification on - by far the best solution for you and your visitors.

    If that doesn't work out, go to vBulletin Options > User Registration Options...there are some more restrictions you can set in there to try and keep them out....such as moderating new members, disallowing multiple registrations, etc....image verification is the best way though.
