    Hello all,

    I started a wordpress blog that is run on a WP script 3.4 and the site received lots of spams recently.

    I am wondering the free Askimet anti-spamming plug-in can be installed in my site? I tried to installed but it seems the free version is only for the wordpress.com.

    Is there other free anti spamming plug-in available?

    I suggest check the following free plugins: ( Replace xx with tt )
    1. hxxp://wordpress.org/plugins/si-captcha-for-wordpress/
    2. hxxps://wordpress.org/plugins/spam-free-wordpress/

    I suggest login to your WP-Dashboard, select discussion, checked "user must login to comment".

    As well, I suggest to include:
    hxxp://wordpress.org/plugins/ip-blacklist-cloud/
    And the first thing you should do after installed ip-blacklist plugins is to add your IP address into the whitelist.

    You should be using the current version of WordPress 3.8.1

    Akismet free comes with all recent versions, it requires registration on the WordPress.com site in order to get an API key. You get instructions and links for registration when you activate it
