same thing happened to me last week. 1/2 of my pages disapeared from the google radar. slowly, they are starting to come back now and traffic is starting to return. This all has something to do with that guy that google indexed 5.5 billion of his pages. Give google some time to wipe the egg off their face and fix things.
Hey Mong check this out http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=h...charset=(detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline Somethings up with your site.
For one of my sites I had about 1ooo pages indexed for 2 years, which is about right. Since weeks I was down to about 80 and today 75oo pages indexed. I don't have that many pages.
thanks for the advice ; i have added now nofollow meta tags. Let's see. I am facing more serious problem because my site is completely out of index. I have checked and rechecked 122nd link and it is <tr><td colspan="2" height="10"></td></tr> PHP: and apparently there is nothing wrong with it. How to know if my site is banned or just de-indexed ?
Looking at your site now, one reason you may have been de-indexed is because of your "Recent Keyword Research:" list. I'm just throwing out an idea here but if some competitor / enemy wanted to get you removed from Google all he would have to do is flood your site with spam related keyword searches (p*rn, v*agra, p*nis enlargement, c*alas, presription drugs, etc.) which would then show up in your recent keyword list. Next thing you know Googlebot comes along and sees your site with all these links to spam-related content and automatically assumes you are a spammer so they de-index you. Just to be on the safe side I would remove that section or write it in Javascript (using document.write, etc.) so Google can't see it.
THis tool is continuously showing error on 122nd line though i have removed all possible errors with the help of http://www.htmlvalidator.com/ Any clue why my site is blown by Google. Is it ban or what ...
This is line 122: It maybe that the following character s(уôðûõýýðøýхр) and other similar are causing the problem. You could try changing the encoding for the page to see if that makes any difference........
Give it a few days and you should find out if there's a penalty. If not then it's probably an indexing issue and will sort itself out in time.
If your website is banned (which I don't think is the case) you'll get a notification at google sitemaps about that. More read here. http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/notifying-webmasters-of-penalties/
When your sitemaps account goes live there is a section for checking penalities. It'll tell you in here. As I said it may also be an idea to drop them an email just to alert them to the fact it's been deindexed.
I just waited about a year before google realized my site was even there, now i ahve 1000 pages indexed.
