I emailed back telling them sure they can advertise on my site. They can make an account and make a deposit. :)

I'm not sure that should be called it spam.

Dawn is a member here. And she openly identifies herself as affiliated with the dentalplans program. I don't see any deception there.

She's asking you whether you want to join her affiliate program. If the answer is no, couldn't you just reply to her to that effect politely instead of starting a thread accusing her of something dispreputable?

To put it another way, might I suggest you just "park it", ZuraX?

There are 7,072 members on this forum. What if every single one of them emailed every other member to ask them to join their program?

And because it was a member is why it wasnt reported right away via spamcop.net.

I didnt request it so to me its spam. I hate spam so much I have been known to report family and friends to their ISP for forwarding me junk after I asked them not to.

Call it what you wish - I've no interest in debating the definition of "spam" and/or UCE.

The point is: I've had several private messages since I've been a member here asking me to exchange links, join forums, or other such requests. I've never felt the need to open a thread to complain about it.

In this case, you received a polite request and you had other options, including ignoring/deleting it or replying indicating that you weren't interested. Or you could have forwarded the email to an admin or a moderator. I'm surprised you felt the need to publicize it in this fashion.

I have no connection whatsoever with the member who sent this to you - I have no personal axe to grind here - just the principle.

What ever happened to the cold call? If it fits the line of business and is politem there should be lesss of an issue.

Some of my best linking partners have some from random PM's I have been sent.

I agree with minstrel, sometimes keeping the dirty laundry out of the public eye is the best.

I just realized this was an email not a PM. Just make your email so it isn't public.

    Problem solved ;)
