I was getting comments in different language then i installed Akismet plugin. Plugin is awesome and deleted my many spam comments. Today, i got a comment which is not a spam but caught by akismet. Why it is so? Is that spam?

Plugins like akismet are useless and just hog resources. It's best to filter comments using keywords in the discussion area. I get a lot of spam but I am not using any anti-spam plugins. I can say that 97% of spam comments are captured by my keyword filter. That's sufficient for me.

*Sigh*Akismet is not worthless. It is a very good plug in used by thousands of webmasters on thousands of websites and I have never once heard anyone call it worthless, including myself.

Just like anything else on the web, nothing is 100% full proof, that's why you have manual access.
Obviously something about the IP address, link or terminology used triggered something.

If you think a comment deserves to be allowed then allow it.
It's not that big of an issue.

Probably the poster did not have his IP already listed at akismet

You seem to be contradicting yourself. Either it is spam, or it is not. If you don't think it is, then allow it. If you do think it is, then why did you say it is not?

Yes, exactly: Automation can only take you so far. At some point human intervention will be needed.

No need to worry about that as sometimes it happened. Just mark it as 'Not spam' and move on.

    DON.
