Spam Blocking Site For Sale!

This is my first site sale, so please forgive me if I miss a standard protocol in this post

I'm selling my http://www.spambusted.com site. I put it up about 1 month ago and then got very busy with my article friendly sites, so haven't done much with it other than add the header and graphic.

There is no adsense on it, no PR yet and I haven't marketed it, so no customers yet. The buyer will get the domain name spambusted.com, script and license for the script which is licensed for spambusted.com. I believe that an email spam blocking business would be a good investment, and wish I had the time to develope it, but since I don't, someone else may be able to use the site!

The site's script is the newest version of alstrasoft's spam blocking script and cost nearly $200.00

Domain name is hosted thru namescheap and if you have a free account there I can push it to you for free. The instructions for setting up the script are pretty clear, but I'd be glad to help the buyer after the sale if needed.

How the site works is, you decide how much to charge for the memberships. When a person signs up, an email address is automatically created on your server for that person and an email is sent to them with the information on forwarding the email accounts they wish protected (like spam arrest does). Your customers don't have to download anything to use the service and there is a web based control panel for users to view emails sent and decide whether to whitelist or block the emails, and extensive admin panel. Uses a mysql database.

Reading through the literature on Altrasofts website, this system sends out an email to whoever sends you email to verify that the email they sent is not spam (This could be considered a form of spam in itself) just wondering what happens if two people who happen to be both running this software email each other?

 

Yes, it send a challenge email to the sender, and if they reply correctly to it, the sender's email is sent thru. I'm not sure how to answer your question, but I imagine they both get a challenge email and if both respond correctly, they can email each other without and further challenge emails

I signed up to see how it works and in faq I see:

but there is no such a link named "Steps".
Can you please explain how to forward the emails ?
Should the mx servers be changed ?

 

When you create an account, then you login to it, and in your account settings is a "help" link.

The help link explains (with steps) how to forward your email addy to the spambusted mail server, and then how to get the email from the server with your mail program and you can block/allow thru the users control panel.... So, if you signed up with a user name of "freedom" you spambusted email address would be . Go into your hosting cpanel, and choose the forward email option and send the email from your account to your new spambusted account

You don't need to change the mx servers. Just do a mail forward to the spambusted email account automatically created when you sign up and then you'll check the email thru that address.

As I said, I haven't done much with it other than the header, so it does need to be customized to the owners liking
