Space after "link:" yields different results

I have found something real quirky in Google's back link search.

When I add a space between the "link:" and the site name, I get more results, for example

    link:www.admoolah.com - gets "Results 1 - 77 of about 93 linking to www.admoolah.com"

    link: www.admoolah.com - gets Results 1 - 58 of about 200 for link: www.admoolah.com"

Even the wording on the results is different. Any idea what is going on here?

Searching for link: www.domain.com is like searching for the word 'link:' and the word 'www.domain.com'.

The link: command only works if there is no space.

link: with space searches for word "link" and whatever is afters space
so that is pretty much irrelevant for your backlinks

Ahhh, OK that makes sense and is pretty obvious now that I look at it. Thanks for explaining that.

So your searching for 'link:' and 'www.domain.com' right?
