Ok, this is the basic of basic my friends. A customer of ours is opening a new spa in the beautiful Geneva Lake area in Wisconsin and just wanted a simple basic one page web site. I'm open for comments, etc.. http://www.clearwatersdayspamd.com Thank you in advance!
dude they pay you for something THAT simple? It's pretty, i like the colors and the logo. No real complaints, other than it looks easy to make even from a consumer point of view. But simplicity may be the wave of the future anyways, what with seo and character order.
On a 1280x1024 screen, the page doesn't fill. I would suggest either centering the content on larger screens so it spreads down a little bit more, or at least providing a background color other than white so it blends a little better.
Sure.. Time is money. There was about 20 minutes worth of work. Lets not forget I had to take their logo images and resize convert to a format be-fitting the web. Same with their image they provided. If it was that simple, they would have done it themselves. Anyway, I am not making a mint off it... A few bucks. Again TIME! I was provided some text and some images and told just make something.. The use of a few brain cells is still worth some coin Thanx for the comments
I was thinking the same thing.. I try to reserve myself when creating a web page because I am spoiled and have a monitor the size of Texas. That said I try to optimize in that 1024 X 768 range.. It'll work on a 800 X 600 but is best on the higher end.. Anything higher than that would be too much. I have seen very few people using larer than 17" and 1024 X 768 on average that is... You would be surprised how many people must be blind. The larger the monitor the bigger the res, in the other direction that is.. I see people using 22" with 640 X 480, intentionally... Yuck.. Anyway, I will likely just fill the color as you suggest. Thank you for that!
It may not be necessary but I alway use meta keyword tag, meta description tag, and title in head. You title is longer than what I use. It seems to me first three words in title should contain the keyword phrase for which you most want to rank. I repeat those at first of my description and in my H1 tag as well. It may not be necessary but has worked well for me. Shannon
Google and most ingnore meta tags so I have started to get in the habit of omitting them as it saves time. I have been experimenting with longer titles knocking KW's around in the title and found it to be effective, ie., the longer title.. Whether this holds true or not is another story, but from a Search Engine end user perspective it seems to catch more attention. Thanks for the advice.
Hi mia, I checked our your website in regards to spa. Too much empty space; see the top left corner. Also site needs more content. Best of luck
Thank you for the comments. I subscribe to the school of thought that "less is more". Sometimes you need some "white space". Anyway, this is all the content that was provided by the client, and all they wanted. I did change the colors I had previously as requested by our client, and took some other advice from some others here, one of which was to add a solid color to the background. Thanx again!
