Sources for targeted email lists?

I came across this forum because I was conducting a search for reviews on an email list company and found the commentary to be helpful. So, I thought I'd post this - I'm sorry if this is not the right forum.

I'm looking to start an email campaign that is highly targeted towards (1) HNW individuals that are likely investors and (2) hedge fund managers and investment advisors.

Can someone recommend a good provider of these type of email lists? Others that I have found either suck (email-point) or are insanely expensive (infousa).

I think you may not get what you wanted by posting a thread like this here. Most of the email list selling are prohibited and against SPAM-CAN rules. All of these emails have been retrieved by software and not from opt-in so that's mean illegal. The only legit way to get your email list is do your own opt-in process.

Don't you get bored when you have got spam emails yourself? :)

That's not true there are plenty of email distribution list companies out there and they are reputable and comply with CAN-SPAM Act.

Thats good to hear. Can you recommend one? I came across databaseemailer.com - they seem legit but would prefer to go with a company that I know is recommended by other marketers

I agree. Isn't it better to build your own list of people who really want to hear from you than spam people

I would strongly suggest generating your own list - it will be far better in the long run... lower costs (you can mail them over and over) and more responsive because they actually want to hear from you.

If you really want to buy a list, try approaching the big magazine publishers... they all have data you can buy.

Also - for very high net worth individuals, you should probably consider going offline (i.e. sending mail) as well or instead.

Depending on how high net worth you're looking for, you'll probably find that most people don't read their email, they have an assistant do it for them... so your prospects will never see your email.
