SOS I have lost all our rankings in just a few days !!!

On March I uploaded one of my company's redesigned website, I did along with my IT team a new layout and changed our URL structure from TLDs to Subfolders based in languages and not countries as we used to have it.

We had I believe a minor problem which was having a javascript drop-down box for the language selection. We changed it to a CSS style combo. Still I havent figured out what exactly could have cause all our Google ranking to dissapear, in some cases even our trademarks are not showing our website and on April we did had very very good rankings for competitive keywords, this all started at the beginning of May.

Our website is for (http://www.andromedical.com) penis enlargement so be aware of the content, even when its a medical device maybe you feel uncomfortable opening it anywere.

Please Im desperate since I believe everything I have been doing on this site is well documented and I always try to follow SEO guidelines (robots.txt, sitemap, seo-friendly urls, internal links, image alts, metatags etc...)

I would appreciate if someone can help me identify if there is something that might have messed up, I dont want to think we have been banned or something, since we are still indexed and the sites page rank hasn't changed.

Any changes to your .htaccess file? Do you use any analytics software such as google analytics? Make sure 301 redirects are in place (htaccess) If the domain structure and file locations (eg www.file.com/page1.html) is the same on the new as it was on the old you should be fine. However, your SERPS (search engine possition) may decrease if, for example, your keyword density dropped, or if some of your backlinks were invalidated or dropped.

Sometimes changes in websites structures, addition or deletion of thousands of links in one day, lack of accessibility for some time and other things might have temporary drops in rankings and pages indexed. After a while, the normal condition could be expected.

This happens when you make substantial changes to a website. Have you changed the page title of your webpages at all? If the only thing you have changed is the url of the webpages, then you should have 301 redirected the old pages to the new ones, otherwise google is going to see duplicate pages in its index and that could explain your drop in rankings.

It's never too late to do the 301 redirect, so get started on this one first and let me know what else you've changed so I can advise you better.

It'll come back when you don't care about it. PR is getting more and more useless unless you want to sell your site or sell links/ads on it.

Although PR is not the key factor in ranking, but after all, pr is a standard, unshakable status!

The problem is not with a "javascript" its with a total redesign of the website. You and your team redid the urls, folders, - just about everything about the site was changed.

Google probably sees your site has a whole new "site" - which it is. Its going to take a few weeks, but everything should stabilize.

From what I have seen, google does a deep crawl around every 2 weeks. So your probably looking at at least 2 or 3 deep crawls. Which is gong to equal out to 4 - 6 weeks.

In my opinion, your site is not well optimized ar at least you can improve things.
Per example the accordion... i am not sure, but i guess is not the better idea. At least you are loosing the posibility to use the questions as anchor texts to an internal webpage.
The same with the "pestanias". Your power keywords are not well used in my opinion. Use it as anchor text.

Giving a fast review to your site, i saw that in the main page you fail to use your main keywords as anchor text. Thats not good in my opinion.

For what I have read most of the questions were solved in the process. I did made all 301 redirects to the new contents not at htaccess but using an urlrewrite.xml file since we are running under a tomcat.

We did make a few changes on the copy, metas, headings etc...that was part of the things we were trying to improve.

Regarding PR, its not a matter of the number we have, its a matter of having keywords like penis enlargement in the first page at Google an loosing it and not even being in the +1000. As some of you mentioned we do not need to care about that unless we make link exchanges or so which we dont.

And last but not least yenerich is totally right we are still missing a few internal links from the homepage, even when we have them at the menu we should try to have a few more using our tabs. Still we did make some internal links at other pages...but thats a very good observation.

Anyway, I knew we were going to have a drop but I trongly believe this drop is more than it should have been, we are not ranking in any single keyword now..that is a little starange.

Thanks for all the replies :)

did you miss to place any url in the homepage that was getting traffic ? if that is the case then that url should have lost the link juice.place it again.

another thing i want to say just wait a little more - like 4 or 5 days and see if there are improvements.
