    Hey guys,

A client wants me to design about 10 projects which pays about 3000$. After reading all these horror stories about PayPal locking accounts, I just want to be sure I'm not heading in the same direction. I have a Premium Verified account and I just want to know how scared I should be about using PayPal.

No, I haven't but I know he's a professional guy. My major concern is PayPal locking the account.

btw why don't you try direct bank account transfer. Paypal will charg you about 100 USD for that transaction i think
Paypal lock is not so terrible. Just upload proofe of address document as a picture ant they will proceed the document within 1 week. That was the way when i tried address proofe

    Hi!
With payments that size..I would use an escrow service. I would not trust Paypal..not hat I really trust them at all anymore. No..ask around. I'm aware of a few of them..but have never had a need to use them.

Thanks guys! The reason I use PayPal is because 1. I'm in the Netherlands and the client is in the USA 2. I don't have a creditcard. What's the benefit of masspay?

the benefits of using masspay is, the buyer cannot file a chargeback to you which is very safe. because some people used to pay and after a couple of days file a chargeback.

or if you have bank account, you can use telegraphic transfer (TT/wire transfer). it takes 2-5 days.. and you can ask your client to transfer with full amount condition. so you'll recieve full 3000$..

If you doubt, then we need a safety method surely, you may choose escrow as a payment method, and share the expenses 50-50 basis. Otherwise this is a wise thing get a direct debt if you are in US. OR Draft for certain amount.

even though expensive, escrow is safe method in your case.

    good luck.

PayPal wont lock your account unless there is a dispute filed. Providing services you shouldn't be too worried about this- it usually happens to people selling something against PayPal guidelines. I did about 10-20k a month through PayPal for a while with no problem until they banned my product (electronic cigarettes) and then I had a hold placed on my account. They required I remove all PayPal payment info from my site and I had my account unlocked in one day.

Dont worry, paypal wont lock yor account for big payments. The only problem is that if the buyer dont opens a dispute!

Ask for a demand draft or something like that. And BTW, paypal is a trust worthy service. It wont lock your account just like that. Reading 1 or 2 horror stories doesnt mean paypal is unsafe....
