(((Please, do with this what you will. I considered making it 'the only PM I ever intend to send to Shawn', but my instincts said to share these ideas in the open forum. Note for clarity: I'm hoping for worthwhile input from DP members, and thinking it might be interesting if the Mods don't "decide right away." Of course it's your decision, and I'm not sure what I'd do if I was the one deciding))) Hi, I am spending massive time and effort on a big project and some things can not be left to assumption. The 'right way' to present my idea? Thanks, for the great Global Forum! You have a massive place which allows people who contribute value a phenominal opportunity to gain rewards in return. This is an example of a post where "I went the extra mile for quality." Extraordinary Popular Delusions And The Madness Of Crowds -IMO, the post ads to the forum in an above average way, and my honest intention prior to writing it was to share with others. I have, possibly, earned the privilege to "someday in the future" add a reasonably informative promotional message into that "high-quality" thread. I fully understand this confession to plan on adding one informative promotional message, is not worthy of a thread, but wait... ...what if, I (over time) 'keep tabs' on the ~20% of my contributions which I know are worthy of being called 'above average' or 'high-quality.' Your massive Global forum has well over 25 different sections. I'm pretty ambitious and could eventually contribute at least one top-shelf post to each of over 25 sections and sub-forums. At this point we know a single 'reasonably informative promotional message' (added later to a quality post) is accepted, done regularly, not Spam, etc. (we did agree on this above, and it's done by someone every day, right?) Since it's OK for one post how about 25 (in different sections), all the same hour, making a "Massive, Futuristic, Global, 'Reasonably Informative Promotional Message?" Important: Each of the ~25 posts would have a unique response to an 'old post' in the 'above average' thread, before the other part. This way it is not such 'blatent bumping'. Summary: At best this idea adds true long-term value to the forum (due to the history of good posts by honest members who use the idea), and gives us a new twist on "Finding Joy In The Game Of Living!". Savvy members who might "borrow this original combination of ideas" would be 'competing' (to add value to DP, and also prepare a "really good show" for their own personal "Big Day when my really 'huge' message is finally shared across the forum." At worst, it's a cleaned-up version of "bumping 25 threads at once with a reasonably informative promotional message." I'm curious to know, not assume, if I do what I descibed (including the decent quality, long-term contributions) would/should the ~25 posts get to stay, or be viewed as "massive Spammy bumping?"
so basically you're asking if you can bump old threads with your promotions, albeit written 'professionally'?
