I think you should try Blogger instead of Wordpress.It's more easy.At least it was for me.

 

Yeah get a Blogger account first and if you to install them get a Linux hosting plan with Cpanel/Fantastico where you can install a blog with a few clicks. A reliable hosting for a fairly good traffic site should cost you about $5 to $10/month
