Hi, I'm Goran, developer of new meta search engine, Soogle - http://soogle.net/. A little bit about the project: It's based on jQuery and standards compliant HTML featuring server side techniques for fast loading.. The primary intention is to provide users with quality designed meta search engine which would unify most popular searches like Google Web, Google Images, Wikipedia, YouTube, Social networks updates etc, into one, centralized interface for easy accessibility. The project itself is going to be ads-free, without all bells and whistles which distract users from the task. Currently, Soogle serves as a wrapper for mentioned searches but in the future its planed to embed search results on locally hosted pages, not external ones.. Numerous features and improvements are planned, like ordered list results, images search interface, CSS3 version of the page which will deprecate usage of imagery for new, modern browsers thus speeding up the experience even more.. Also, further code optimization and improvement will never stop which means that users will have best possible experience at all times. If project goes live and well, domain will be hosted at Brisbane Technology Park dedicated server which should handle most demanding scenarios websites are put at today. If you have any other questions regarding the project don't hesitate to comment, i'll be happy to answer. Thanks in advance.
I think meta search engines have their purpose. I can see you including Google, but I don't understand Google images, wikipedia or the rest. Can you explain more of "why" you choose just those others to include in the meta search engine. I think you have a plan for your site, but you just weren't that clear on it's purpose. If you could explain further for clarification, you might have a lot of supporters for your site.
AS been said, the main purpose is to unify most popular search engines into one interface which would ease accessibility and shorten time to wanted search task. I had need for such website so i built it.
