A small Note To The parents: It is impossible for us to do the “correct†thing at all times for our children. We’re only human and we live with many pressures, whether as a mother having to care for an entire family or as a father trying to earn a living. At times we are going to get rattled and angry. At such times don’t begin criticizing yourself as a poor parent. When there is love and acceptance the child is quite capable of tolerating an emotional response of anger from his parents. If the briefest summary of a parents role in the healthy mental development of a child could be simply stated as follows: To accept, love, and protect-but not to smother. To assist but not to push. To understand how a child’s mind operates and what his needs are and thus to communicate better. To have as our goal his ultimate happiness’ based truly on his needs and not on yours.
