Something you should know about Google

Google is a domain registrar. This means that they are notified about every domain change world wide.
It doesn't matter if you have a toolbar or not Google will know about your website the minute you buy the domain.

    Hope this helps.

A friend of mine took a one day course about SEO and was told about that.
So when I met him he informed me and I was amazed to hear that.

This the main reason why cross linking between websites under same IP and same domain ownership will not works. :)

Lol, very funny, where do these stories come from.

I hope to be shown different regarding this but saying that google are a domain registrar doesn't sound right to me.

Think about it this way instead, they are the search engine that our sites are indexed by, why would they need to be a registrar to get this information?

They can find out more about me, you, our sites who last owned what etc etc than any of us will even realise.

We actually know virtually nothing about google, but i would bet that they know a helluva lot about all of us, even if someone has never used their search engine ever.

All of these threads of oh i know this about google, i know they have a new algo, i think i have figured out a system, i understand seo, lol its impossible.

None of us know even a fraction of useful information about google, we never will.

The thread should be google know enough about us all to scare us and stop us from sleeping properly at night.

It's not as if some Google employee is sitting there each time someone buys a domain and says "hey, this guy just bought xxx.com, let's see what else he owns". Having access to information is one thing, but whether Google will use their resources to bother to cross-check each and every website to determine who owns it is another.

I think that unless someone owns a large-scale network of sites and brings themselves to Google's attention, accessing this information is totally unnecessary for Google to protect the integrity of their search results.

This is interesting info, but what is the impact on SEO? That linking between sites you own doesn't pass link juice?

I don't think this has any impact on SEO. Like pipes said, it's probably for business purposes and not for intelligence/search purposes.

Its is worthless for google.. Google has much sophisticated technology to know about your site and its history.

If internet is earth and sites are humans then Google is GOD... so don't predicts such thing about Google.

What you're saying may be true. However, consider that the IP class may be what Google uses to determine this.
