I had a website that was on page 1 for 3 nice keywords on google just yesterday night. Overnight, I got removed from all of them and even doing a search for my own domain I am almost last. It is a fairly new site, 2 months. The only change ive made in the last two weeks is I changed the homepage title a little. This is very weird, what could be wrong? Could applying to adsense last week have anything to do with it? Also, oddly, one of the keywords was for my forums while another was for my homepage. So why would they all get affected at once? PS, i still have a good rank on Yahoo.
Adsense have nothing to do with ranking. New sites often ranks good and then they fall into the big black hole.
I think I may have figured it out. With losing rank, google also updated my title in the listing to the new one. It has the same words as previously, except more. If I change it back to the original, will it fix itself? And doesn't google see each page as a separate "site", so how would changing the title on my homepage mess up my forums?
i know that . but this is more of an seo question, dont you agree? I just mentioned I signed up with adsense incase it had anything to do with the weird ranking.
bro, the same thing happened to my site, and i almost freaked out. i think google is fluctuating again. i don't know. i ain't sure if there's going to be another update. check your keywords regularly it will come back. BTW, yes the change of title might have also been an effect.
I am thinking that your site might have been removed because, time to time you should give some new perspective, new add words. And not doing that might be an answer to your problem!!!!
Except for "login" all of you are incorrect in your statements. That's the cause of Google Sandbox. Google often ranks new site well but after a short time all those rankings disappear. It's all got to do with the age of your domain and nothing else. The effect of which generally remains for 4-5 months.
First, Google has been moving lots of sites up and down last night. They are still updating like crazy. Adsense has nothing to do with that. If you changed your title recently and the new title fits your needs better than the old one, don't remove the changes! If you wish a concrete analysis, I need to know your URL. You can send me a pm if you wish.
google adsense and google search completely different from to each other. buying links from adwords will not help you to get better serp results on google. there is only one secret for google search . it's getting links from other sites and waiting
thx for all your replies. ive noticed yahoo is the only one that does not punish title changes. What happened is that I changed my title, and I got booted to like 5th page for my desired keyword. So I immediately changed it back, BAD mistake. Google did not change my title on their search results for a few days, so I saw my new title go up to the second page, almost first. So I quickly changed it back to the new one to hopefully not mess it up again. HAH, so now I am screwed. changing title that frequently must be bad in google's eyes. I've decided to just not touch my title anymore and hope I will start crawling up from the pit hole.
Yes, a title change once is noting bad, but changing frequently will not get your page/site penalized but it usually lasts month to recover your rankings. (Almost the same applies to link anchor changes don't change them!)
