Something Wrong With Google Update

Here is my site www.ifonlyihadit.com .. About three days ago this site was given a PR3 from a PR0 status and it stayed that way until today about 30 minutes ago I noticed that the PR is back to PR0 ..

I am not so sure on what is going on.. I did do all the neccessary checks to see if the google pr3 was real and most of the datacenters using iwebtool was showing the PR3 .. Now what i get from the results is most of them is N/A , PR 0 about 7 of them showing and five of them showing a PR7 ..

But my toolbar indicates that the PR is now 0 .. Can google update be increasing your PR and then decrease it in the same update but maybe give you the pr for like 3 to 4 days .. Not so sure what is happening but would like to hear what you guys have to say about this..

And if Google guys are looking at this thread I would like to say Thanks For Nothing .. You guys made me happy for 3 days only to pull it back :p ..

This is a normal update faced by most of the webmasters. Even some of my friend noticed the same thing of seeing PR0 for sometime and then back to PR3. But as per your case I think showing PR7 in one and PR3 in some that is quite interesting. Let the sand settle down and then we can come to a conclusion.

so what is the right direction. A call just now to a cousin of mine who has been a blogger for the past 2 years told me that the same thing happened to a friends blog about 6 months ago. He was a PR 0 to PR3 then also downgraded back to PR0 and all this within 2 weeks. Gosh you know what I must have broken the record or something.. Mine went up and down within 3 days :) .

The only reason that I can think of is because I do a lot of reviews and get paid quite highly for doing so. Like I actually made about USD 2500 within the past 2 months from reviews alone and only on one blog.. Kinda weird huh.. I though writing a lot wont hurt.

Some other people told me it is because I do not have backlinks to my entire site but only to my frontpage. Well I dont think that I need backlinks or PR for my other pages as that would only attract scavengers who would posts 100's of comments to these old pages and give me more work. I already receive like 50 comments a day which is thrown into spam.

I think the main reason all these is happening is because Google is afraid. They are so afraid of people like us making money on the internet. They think that they should be the only company making money of the net. I think it is time that some of us guys take a seat down and really think hard. We should start a new site which will not only compete with Google but also win it.

We do not have to be a search engine although we should have a search engine but we should be a group of people that makes money for everyone who wants to make money on the internet.

To avoid this despair, concentrate on putting good content. PR can take care of itself.
Usually people visit websites and keep coming back not because of PR but because of something useful that they could get from a website.

I had this obsession before: checking PR everyday. Now I can rest the whole year without checking PR. :)

I have seen few blogs which have PR like 2 or 3 but not a single backlink- it too create confusion about the google ranking process.

I saw it too. And at times you wonder if there is myth in all this PR stuff. IMHO.

PR is not so great but when you take blogs and think that it is a money making tool then yes it will bother you a lot.. most advertisers dont care how good or how many visitors you get but more on PR .. So when I received my PR 3 last 4 days ago I was quite happy that I could make some money to pay for everything and then suddenly today it is back to a PR 0 .. how could one survive with this type of incompetence and ficcal mindedness.

If they did not want to give the PR then they should not have put the PR up in the first place.. It comes to the question where has anyone else noticed such a thing happening to their sites or am I the only one..

PR can increase or decrease without any kind of warnings. My site dropped to PR0 in the recent update.

the weird thing is .. it should either go up or down once every pr update .. but in this recent update it went up for 3 days then went down to PR0 on the fourth day ..

Do you sell PPP or sitewides/footer links without 'nofollow'?

make sure the links are no follow if you sell them on your website, otherwise google may penalise you.
