Thinking of joining Associates, but I have a question. After referring customers to Amazon, if they close the browser window without buying anything, and then reenter in less than 24 hours, do I still get paid? I thought I would because of the cookies, then I read this in the agreement: Thanks in advance.
That basically means that you might refer a visitor to make a purchase on Amazon.com, once the transaction has completed (by checking out) or expired (cookie timesout), unless they re-use your Amazon tracking id (via your links or site), you will not be credited for future sales that visitor might make on the Amazon.com website. Its legal jargon that every company has to use, but in the simplest of terms, in order for you to be paid commission for referrals, you have to actually refer via your tracking id. Its important that Associates understand this, so that they focus more on providing value to the website visitors and give them a reason to return to your site, even if they are going to checkout at Amazon. Hope this response was helpful. Happy Selling!, PuReWebDev
Thank you, PuReWebDev! Yes your response was very helpful. When I was reading the agreement, I thought that Amazon doesn't pay the publisher even if the customer doesn't check out (just closes the browser window).
