Something very odd just happened to me

I was making a new campaign for an affiliate product.
I made 2 ad groups both with 1 ad. Each ad used the same keywords and header text. Only the description texts differ. (for split testing)

On ad 1 all my keywords were active but on the ad 2 I had to bid higher on 2 of my keywords ! I bid 0,07$ for all the keywords and it wanted me to bid 0,1$ to activate those keywords in ad 2.

Has something like this ever happened to any of you ?

I have seen some weird stuff but this looks like there is a random number generator involved somewhere.

It was my understanding that the description text affects the quality score of an ad.

That's what I thought too. So I played around a bit with the description to see if the minumum bids would change and they didn't.

What params would G take into account to gauge the quality of an ad ? (when checked by a computer)
    I would think :
    - correct spelling
    - correct punctuation
    - correct use of caps
    - spammy words ?
    - CTR ? (My ad was new so he could not have used this data)

    Any ideas ?
