Want to undestand the risks of not controlling immigration ? Ask any Native-American. No, I am not, but I thought the point was well made.
I agree. However, the immigration is made illegal by the government... It needs to be treated at the source...not at the border...
hmmmm...i know the solution: dig a dittch and fill it with cubans. that would for sure keep the mexicans away
Atrophied brains just see Cubans or Mexicans... There are 40,000 illegals Irish in the US. There are people, coming from Luxembourg, Sweden, UK, going to the US with visas...and they can not even have a driver's license...so, don't even think about working...BUT they have to eat, therefore, to work...illegally... I'm an immigrant myself, do I know the immigration problem, that Americans have no idea...
Illegals can get driving licences in some states. If more people new how easy it was there would be more.
If they're here illegally then no, they can't. You need some time of validation, such as a valid Visa. Otherwise, it's illegal and you will be sent back to wherever you came from.
Eleven states issue drivers licenses to illegal aliens, including Alaska, Connecticut, Idaho, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Utah, Washington and West Virginia.
Stop giving them free medical care Stop giving them free education Stop giving them free welfare Stop giving them free citizenship when one is born in the US Ron Paul 2008!
That baby would be American regardless so they deserve citizenship. The majority of everyone who lives in America are immigrants.
The majority of illegals give fake social security cards or pick-up work outside places like Home Depot.
Immigration has changed since the early 1900's. My grandfather emigrated here from Ireland in the 1920's and all he had to do was get off a boat at Ellis Island. I don't see how they are going to stop illegal aliens from coming here. In my opinion the best thing they can do is legalize them and have them pay taxes. If they are already getting free medical care and education let them help pay for it.
Wow, thats pretty racist........and it doesn't get to the root cause of the problem, which is government. The U.S. government encourages them to come and live here, and their government encourages them to leave. Does that make sense? I think with George W. Bush's Immigration/Amnesty plan, he made it clear how the government feels about illegals. Yep, and this is something that only the government can do. It is also why I want to vote for Ron Paul, because he is someone who can fix the problem.
There is a big difference between the Europeans who migrated here in the 19th century, and the Illegals who are crossing our border today. A lot of people who support immigration use this argument. The biggest difference between the two is that the Europeans did it legally. They went through Ellis Island, were checked for diseases, and were processed into the country by law. When illegals cross over our border without going through the proper immigration channels, whether they're Chinese, Mexican, Irish, or Cambodian, they are breaking the law. People want to come here because the U.S. is based on the foundation of freedom, though our freedoms are disappearing more every day. A lot of the people who enter this country illegally hate us. They hate America. They want all the goodies, but they don't want to be assimilated. A good example of this is Mexicans waving the Mexican flag when they are here in the U.S. Umm, shouldn't they be waving the American flag? If Mexico is so great, why don't they go live there? The reality is that most countries in this world have no foundation of Freedom. They don't have a Constitution or Bill of Rights, or Due Process, or Freedom of Speech, or a split between the Church and state. That is why everyone wants to come here. The problem is, we only have so much land, and when you have a group of people in your country who refuses to be assimilated, you're going to have riots and other problems. While Blacks and Whites in this country have had plenty of problems over the last century, the fact of the matter remains that Black and White Americans have the same basic culture. We eat the same foods, watch the same tv shows, and share the same history. Few Black people in America today can identify with African culture, because they are separated by many generations. However, these other people who are immigrated here don't have the same history. They don't have the same culture. When you allow hostile cultures to come together, you're going to have serious problems. Look at the situation in France and Belgium. Illegal immigration isn't just a problem in the U.S. Government is the main problem. If the U.S. government really wanted to do something about the illegal immigration situation, they would. And they already have: create a bill which makes all the illegals here legal, and allows even more to come over. That is what the government wants to do. That is what Bush's immigration bill proposes.
my ex's family were "immigrants" they moved from japan when he was young - they got citizenship, opened a business, paid (lots of) taxes and provided jobs to others. There's nothing wrong with being an immigrant- what's wrong is to do it illegally. No one is saying those from Mexico, or any other country can not immigrate to America - but to do it via legal channels!
In my state the Mexicans have already taken over and put us gringos on a reservation. In all seriousness, this immigration debate always seems to pop up when there's something else going wrong in the U.S. and the politicians want to create a diversion. The problem is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be.
