I had something weird yesterday! For one site, I had 37 clicks but only 26 page impressions! So my CTR was well over 100%. How in the world is that even possible? Is that similar to the "strangeness" you noticed or are you talking about something else?
Very possible. If I see a Leaderboard ad block (728x90), I can click all 4 ads without refreshing the page ie creating new impression. However, having CTR over 10% mostly means that you had had fraudulent clicks.
a person clicking on more than 1 ads can cause this. nothing to worry although this is very uncommon.
Not really. Not in all cases. I have had a few 11 - 20 % days for niche sites . I don't think they were fraudent. But then again, I could be wrong
well, it not what you and me think, it;s that google has some criteria to check fraud clicks and one of their criteria is the 10% CTR.
I disagree strongly with that statement, one of my sites has a minimum CTR of around 20%+ on a daily basis and that's all legit. It's just a shame it gets between 30-40 uniques a day
Hi, Thanks for your thoughts, everyone! I apologize to the OP for hijacking the thread -- just wanted to know if this is something similar to what you experienced... I'm going to start a new thread so I don't hijack it further, but while I had a "normal" day yesterday, I am having another unusually high day today (22 impressions but 11 clicks for over 50% CTR!) I'm starting to worry something is definitely fishy... Was this directed at me??
