Hi All I'm hoping that my .htaccess is the culpret. Sorry this is kinda long. Here's the background... My webhosting account has a primary account - dom1 dot com (for short) with the ,net, .biz, .info, and .org parked and redirected. Several months ago I added dom2 (for short) as an add-on domain. After a few bumps and some changes to .htaccess all was working well. After being parked for about a month, I upgraded dom3 (again for short) to an add-on. From the first things seemed off. When I searched G for dom3 it returned dom1. My webhost said this was because it had been parked for a while. I didn't think that was right, but hoped it would resolve itself. Then I noticed that webalyzer in cPanel returned the wrong path for pages visited on the two add-on domains. For example, if someone visited dom2 /webmasters.html the log entry had dom1 /webmasters.html (a non-existant file) or if they visited dom3 /index.html the log entry was dom1. com. My webhost claims to have investigated and believes the problem to be a bug in webalyzer. Again I wasn't sure about that as an answer; but remained hopeful things would resolve themselves. Several days ago all search traffic from Google stopped on dom1 and dom2 - only homepage had been spidered on dom3. The pages are there when searched for via a quoted phrase or the site in general; but no results for keywords. I have seen so many threads here and elsewhere where this happens that I thought perhaps this was just a coincidence or related to another post. Today I noticed that when I search for backlinks on either of the add-on domains I get results for the primary. Dom2 had quite a few backlinks, now 6 are listed and they are really for dom1. The dom3 page is showing results from dom1 and dom2 (dom3 is not mentioned on or linking to either one). For some reason this is only a problem with Google, MSN and Yahoo seem to have everything right. I just think there's too much going on at the same time to be a coincidence. All the craziness started around the same time the third domain was moved from parked to add-on. The only thing I can think of is that something is messed up in .htaccess. Site visitors are seeing the correct pages and the URL being shown is correct. My current .htaccess follows. Please understand I'm not sure what alot of it does. Basically I had hoped to redirect the parked domains (dom1 not .com) to dom1 (dom1 dot com), redirect (may not be right term) so that all PR went to www versions of domains rather than split between www and non-www, and have it so folks couldn't steal bandwidth via my graphics (this has proven to be a failure - so I know that code isn't right as I had to change a filename of one of my images after someone has been 'sharing' it with others the past few days) So if you are still with me, I truly appreciate your time and ask you to see if you spot anything in my .htaccess that could be the culpret for this mess.
