Something strange is going on...

    I don't normally get too worried about the movement of my sites in the Google. They all move up and down from time to time, and even when they go from page 1 to page 50, they usually come back within a day or so. This time I'm slightly concerned however. My site www.NetGolfGames.com has had top 5 rankings for about 10 keywords that I focus on. Today, my site is not showing up for any of it's keywords. It's just vanished. I changed some content in the past week, and have been doing my normal link building, but this just seems odd.

    There are no error messages or warnings in Webmaster Tools, but when I use info:"www.netgolfgames.com", nothing shows. I'm hoping my site is just lost in a datacenter update, but if it doesn't return in a day or so, I might start getting concerned. The site is a year old, with about 3000 backlinks and 1400 unique visitors a day...until now! I can't believe they'd sandbox me after a year.

    Anyone else run into this recently?

    I do not see this as a sandbox penalty on your site since you say it has been around for a year. What type of link building are you doing for your site? What content did you change in the past week?

    Same thing happened to me here , I was ranking top for 5 keywords and it kept going up and down in the serps (normal) but now it's gone , the site is still fully indexed though , I tried the allinanchor:"keyword" and my site does show up!
    The only thing I changed was the meta tags across all the website ..

    I am in the same boat with b l i t z g a m e r .com .. I am not a happy camper right now.

    I was ranked high on a lot of keywords and now they are all pushed back.

    I recently added a couple of paragraphs to the bottom of my page... I have edited it a little with less keywords and adjusted the description and title as well hoping that I will get my rankings back.

    Do you guys think I should get adjust anything else or just pray?

    I am getting worried as well! :-(

    =====update======
    After posting this, I did some more adjusting of my content and this morning all of my keywords are back! Hoo Ray, I can breathe again!

    I hope that everyone else gets theirs back on top again as well.

    Cheers

    Mine finally came back..it took a couple of days, but it got it's rankings back, and some were better. Hang tight, and it should show back up...it usually does.

    As link building has become more popular among people it is very difficult to keep your site at a high level unless you work very hard at it.

    This happens all the time. Google has dozens of datacenters serving results, and sometimes they are not all in perfect sync.

    Also, site:yoururl.com is not the best way to check for a penalty - I have a site which was burned, and it is still fully indexed. It just won't rank for anything - not even its name. That is the sure way to tell if you have a penalty. (Assuming that lasts over a period of time and not just a few days)
