Something new for bloggers and writers - I'd like your thoughts

    Hi,
My site, WriteHere.com, is in Beta testing. I'd love feedback from bloggers, writers, and anyone who 'consumes' a lot of words online.

It's a virtual Speakers' Corner for the Internet. A place to express an opinion, share an idea, spark a conversation.

The post "Why I'm Hacking Blogging" explains my motivations. And "Why WriteHere?" gives a little background.

Any and all feedback is always much appreciated. The more I get, the better I can make it.

    Thanks,
    Cameron

It's a very nice site. The design is modern, apparently unique and has features I haven't seen before (like commenting at any point of the articles). On top of that, the domain name is really good and memorable. I could see this taking off and becoming really big. Nice job.

    Aloha!

Thank you for taking the time to visit, read and respond. I'm especially happy that you like the comment functionality - I spent many hours figuring that out!

I appreciate your kind words more than you will know. I hope you find reason to come back some time :)

    Regards,
    Cameron

I have a suggestion . For your site to load fast, you need limit the topic to be shown on your pages.

    Sweetkate,

Thanks for your suggestion. I will discuss with the developer, and as we evolve the site and work on architecture and navigation I'll be sure to consider content vs load times.

Thanks for taking the time to visit and poke around the site.

I like the style of the site.

Also, the commenting system is pretty sweet.

I would consider reducing the width because it's a lot of information all at once. I'm thinking about reducing a column on both sides. It might make it a bit easier on the eyes.

Also, consider makgin [ Most Recent ] [ Most Read ] [ Most Comments ] [ Most Shared ] a bit more prominent as they get lost in the number of cards.

    Just some thoughts.

    Ian,
Yes, column width is something I've been contemplating. I realize the readability issues attached with this. I intend to follow your advice and narrow it. I will then have a bit of room to finesse the comment boxes and comment indicator bubbles.

And, interesting observation about the sort criteria. I have been far too close to it to notice that. I don't want to increase the 'color' of them, but I will try a couple of things (such as a line underneath them, moving them to the top nav bar).

Thanks for taking the time to look around and provide insights and advice. I can't thank you enough.
