Okay so something needs to be done. I just looked at my settings (hardly ever check it out) and see that I received five bad reputation points for a thread I made (ages ago about selling my sports network) and the reputation had no name next to it (love how this site protects keyboard warriors who think they are high and mighty) and the reputation was in no way based on my thread. How do I know this? Because they used a nickname of mine that has never been used on this board, which means it is someone who has brought outside interests into this site and have attempted to ruin my reputation. Why does this site allow keyboard warriors to ruin people's reputation by giving them the option to not have their name shared. The reputation I got was filled with swearwords and personal insults. It is pathetic and something that needs to be looked at such as the ability to report it. So from now on I will be like these ball-less keyboard warriors and will go around to everyone I feel like and just leave abusive messages and bad reputation - the admin/mods here are powerless to stop it so why not? I mean come on there should be provisions put into place it's pathetic.
They haven't done a very good job - you are still "green"! People can't leave reputation for the same person terribly often so if its happened 5 times then a) someone has dupe accounts or b) you've pissed a group of people off Remember they lose points too Only the most recent 5 points are visible so there could, infact, be more but their diatribes have been futile... Don't sweat it
I don't worry about it - just hate that I come here try to answer threads, speak to people gain insight and then idiots who can hide behind anomisity can give you bad rep. Especially ones filled with some disgusting comments. Doesn't bother me now - we all know there are keyboard warriors out there.
Hence the thread, right? Calling people idiots is probably why you've gone from green to gray in a matter of a couple of days. Also, I highly doubt they are hiding behind their animosity. They gave you red rep, right? They got their animosity out. Unless you meant anonymity? Then yes, they are hiding behind it. I've found that red rep with "disgusting comments" are fueled with anger the receiver caused. Otherwise they'd just red rep you with no comment or a "Here you go." You really pissed some people off. lol Actually, not all of us. WTF is a keyboard warrior?
