me too Yesterday I got for the first time PR4 and after a few hours i got PR0 again. But I changed file "c:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" where i added "216.239.53.99 toolbarqueries.google.com " and now i got PR4 again.
There are now 5 data centers still showing PR3 instead of new PR4 for me. One more then yesterday. I wasn't paying attention so I don't know which one rolled back?
As I noted elsewhere, there's something odd about this update. It shouldn't take this long to update the datacenters -- they're tweaking something as they go along, I think.
Maybe it's payback in reverse? Maybe they decided to tweak their DC's and results as much as we tweak our websites?
I think that PR has to recenter as the Internet grows, similar to the relationship between inflation and the US PPI. Seeing PR shrink should be expected unless you are still acquiring links as aggressively as ever.
I have (also) noticed that PR for all of my sites (about a dozen) has reverted to what it was prior to the update of a few days ago. This is good in some cases for me and bad in others. Any more thoughts on whether this is just a slow update across the datacenters or if they are making some serious revisions to the calculation of PR?
i had pr0 then the update shows pr2 on all datacentres then today i have pr0 again on all datacentres, but who care's i see more traffic this last 2 months than ever before, twice as much, one day i had 29,500 page views, "quess that dont mean much to anyone, but it does to me" sammie xox
The number of data centers displaying the new PR versus the old is slowly decreasing on the sites I am monitoring.
LOL! But isn't it amazing how you can read a thread probably even 4 YEARS old and it will look just like every other thread on a PR update
So if I did see PR 3 on my site the day of the update I am likely to see it again when all data-centres are updated? thanks jg123
No. I mean you would see exactly the same questions, the same comments, the same replies to questions, the same mass hysteria, the same "what's wrong with Google?" posts... Possibly but not necessarily. That's why you will almost always see the advice "wait until it's finished".
My PR's have been alternating between 0 and 4/5 over the last few days. Good news, though, since the pages are new and it looks like they'll be at '5' once the dance settles down. LC
Wow! Thanks for the information! Just now noticed that the PR did in fact change over the last two days! [I should know better than to check right after an update].
