well. i am promoting my brothers low office website now meanwhile searching and browsing the net i found out a really cool way. other then the obvious backlink building straight to your websites. you could also build up a small 1 page website with a big article about your niche, then wait until google index it and build massive amount of links to this page. and the "power" from this link will pass on to your website through the little 1 page website but they will come out "cleaner" what i mean is because there will be only 1 /4 links to your website coming out of 1 website. they wont look spammy and will still help ranking your keyword in a very safe way.. I tested it on 3 keywords and its seems really helpful.
The only problem with that is if the article gets removed then you've effectively broke all your links. You're right though it does work. If it's a law office get him listed on Google maps. Well yea google maps and google local business are good. already is used but we want higher ranking :_) wellyea if the article or the 1 page is removed the chain is broken. but thats why you give it 2-3 weeks before busting it. also you can just create your own WP blogs to do that. and imo the more levels like that the better it would be . its sorta pyramid
