Since i have been here i continually get them.

I would appreciate some genuine help and not just a hard luck get over it.

some of the infractions i have recieved are as follows.

Affiliate Link - It was a link to my own web site

Bumping Post - I posted a 2nd post after the 1st one as i didnt want it be part of the 1st how can i bump a post that is new?

Bumping Post - Use Edit Button - you tell me how to use the edit button after there are a few posts and it has gone? - do mods who issue infractions actually realise you dont have an edit button after a few posts?

I am not moaning i would just like to have some answer i am on my 7th infraction and i feel at least half of them are unfair.

And as long as i cant edit or delete my own posts i dont see how it is going to improve?

Affiliate Link..... you may have posted the Affiliate Link without noticing. Affiliate Links are fine in sigs not in posts. and no links to Affiliate sites in posts. you state your site was an Affiliate Site.

Bumping Post - I posted a 2nd post..... easy, the rules state no bumping what so ever. GET IT no-one cares what you think, thats the rule.

Bumping Post - Use Edit Button... edit button is there for 8 hours. so you had time.

If the landing page has nothing but an affiliate link, that's not allowed.

GET IT no-one cares what you think, thats the rule. - Dont you think that is a rude comment when i am looking for constructive critisizm.

Affiliate Link you may have posted the Affiliate Link without noticing. - there was no error it only went to my web site which doesnt have affiliate links

Use Edit Button edit button is there for 8 hours. so you had time - Without knowing the situation how can you say that? - my original post had been up for a few days before i needed to say something else realting to it, so no 8 hours wasnt long enough.

This is the only forum i have ever been a member of where you cant edit or delete your own posts after 8 hours

Any constructive help especially from mods or admin rather than rude ones like samantha pia wouild be appreciated

It wasnt a landing page it is my web site sales page.
It was in the buy and sell section and i was sending people here to buy the product and i have used the link on this site about 20 times with no problems.

    see here for more details

see here? you bitch about getting an infraction because you do not want to use the edit button, but you want to rack up your post count by double posting. well i reported that post, thats 2 more infractions heading your way.

when you learn the rules, and abide by them, you'll thank me later.
    have a nice day

    Guys .....Guys, Please stop fighting

If you need any answer about infractions please just

The Infractions F.A.Q - Please Read

And if you are to lazy to click

Here is a list of what you can receive an infraction for and a brief explanation of why:

    - Duplicate thread - If you create a thread about a subject that is already being discussed in another thread, you may receive an infraction.

    - Affiliate links - Affiliate links are allowed in signatures, but they are not allowed in posts.

    - Thread hijacking - Off topic posts or trying to promote your own item/service in a thread started by someone else are both examples of thread hijacking.

    - Running up post count/post has no value - Posts such as "pm sent", "lol" or any other useless post that does not contribute to the forum or the thread is considered a post that has no value. Posting numerous "welcome to the forum" posts in the Introductions forum is also considered post padding or running up your post count. Posting an opinion in a sales thread such as "great price, good luck with the sale" but not actually bidding or participating is not allowed.

    - Inappropriate post/thread - Although we are quite liberal, certain threads and posts are simply inappropriate. Examples of inappropriate posts would be porn and blatant vulgarity.

    - Thread started in wrong catagory - If you start a thread in the wrong forum because you do not have enough posts to start a thread in the correct forum (the Buy/Sell/Trade forum, for example), you will receive an infraction. If you start a thread in the wrong catagory, but it appears that you at least attempted to put it in the right forum, you generally will not receive an infraction.

    - Bumping thread - Bumping is when you reply to your own thread with the sole purpose of bumping it to the top of the forum. Also, a worthless reply to old threads can also be considered bumping.

    - Inappropriate language - Cursing is not forbidden in this forum, but we expect it to be used minimally.

    - Attacking/harassing other members - You are allowed to disagree with the opinions of other members but you are not allowed to attack the person or their circumstances.

    - Spamming - If all or the majority of your posts are promoting or linking to your website or product. You will receive an infraction for spamming.

    - Duplicate account - If you create more then one account at Digital Point Forums, you will receive an infraction and will be banned.

    More info regarding infractions:

    - Yellow infractions are just warnings. Red infractions are the real deal and will incur points toward being banned.

    - When you view your infractions and the post says "Private" it means that the post you were infracted for has been deleted. If the post has not been deleted, you should be able to click the link and view the post.

And finally, Do not start a thread about infractions. 99% off the people that do it are simply playing dumb and wasting the time of moderators. Starting a "Wah! I got an infraction!" thread will probably lead to another infraction.

    I hope this helps !

It is nothing to do with not reading the rules i have read them, but they cant explain why i got one for affiliate link when i didnt have one or why i cant edit my own posts after 8 hours.
I have to say i posted here because i thought i would get some constructive answers from people and not just abuse for no reason from one person

    I helped you dude :)

    Didn't I ?

Here is the answer to your second question

Why Not read the FAQ'S that are also post all around this forum as well

    Posting Guidelines
While there are very few specific posting guidelines, so please use common sense.

    * You must have been a member for 7 days, not have an overall red reputation and have 10 total posts to post in the Website Review forum.
It can take up to an hour for your new permissions to be active.

    * You must have been a member for 14 days, not have an overall red reputation and have 25 total posts to post in the Buy, Sell or Trade forum (which includes link exchanges).
It can take up to an hour for your new permissions to be active.

    * Start new threads in the most relevant forum category.

    * Don't create posts with nothing but a link. If you are going to link to a news article for example, give a summary of it.

    * Unless it's earth shattering news, don't post press releases.

    * It's okay to promote your own things, but wait until you have contributed something useful (posts-wise) to the forum.

    * Don't create threads about random news. Anything more than one thread per day that is from a news source will be deleted.

    * Personal attacks against people, or sites will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with someone or their site, take it up with them personally.

    * Don't "bump" threads and don't post duplicate threads.

    * Don't spam the forum with things like:

o Affiliate links (they are allowed in signatures though)

o Nothing but a link to your own site (you can request a site review within the Website Reviews forum).

    * The staff here had the final say on what is appropriate and what is not.

ok lets do this again, see the bold part? about afilite links?
this is what you get when you click a link on your website

http*****audiobookworldonline.com/?aid=50****** aid = affiliate id, we are not dumbasses here, we can see an affiliate link when we see them, so you posted a link in a thread to your site, it gets an infraction, you have the link in your sig, you're safe.

each forum has limits to edits, this is the most popular of them all, so our limits here have to reflect that, or staff would be running around after edits 24/7 and not getting other work done

It says they cant be in a post and it wasnt, also the above says it cant be a landing page with just an affiliate link - it wasnt.
All you have clicked on was part of the menu of my site that doesnt mean anyone was being encouraged to click on it.
I am selling items i have to send them to my site to buy it if there happens to be a menu link that goes to an affiliate link i cant see that is a problem and if it is why didnt i get an infraction every other time i posted the same site?

Nice to see another person calling me an idiot - if people dont want to help why bother posting? (oh yes to bump their post count which is an infraction!)

yes they are, because they think it is part of your site, you made it a part of your menu, so it looks no different than any other part of your site.

98% of the DP members are honest, you are borderline, you dont like DP or the rules? then go elsewhere, with the tactics you use on your site, you give honest webmasters a bad name, i am sure no-one here will miss you.

    selling items?
look DP is not a place for you to sell your crap affiliate stuff, it is here to sell webmaster stuff, and to learn, and trade, you wanna see your shit, sell it elsewhere

Most of us on DP couldn't care less about our "post count". But a lot of us do care (negatively!) about bumps, which are inherently an injustice to threads that are still alive and of current interest to DPers. A bump artificially puts your thread above those still-popular threads.
