Bruce, in April ALL the code was encrypted, we then released 99% of the code that people would require to play to their hearts content, any areas encrypted now are done so for nothing more than protection.

Yes the stories are true; phpStynx is a waste of time and space. Sad indeed. It wasn't gossip.

He's referring to the code that I found in the initial post.

You and your staff need to seriously regroup and begin with reading comprehension 101.

Yes Billy. I hear you. Shame you weren't picked for the school team, huh? Looks like quite a few of your 'friends' were, so, the joke's on you.

swedal, quite sad to see that as there really is no justification for that to be included in any file (not even for testing). Extremely unprofessional.

That would be my second choice, too. It might even be my first if the upgrades weren't virtually impossible.

But phpLynx is a great script. What exactly is your problem with it?

Jamie in my posts on this thread I am referring to what I started it about and that is the code snippet found in the Authority Directory.

That comment was made which was said someone posed a thought that it may have been planted there. This was just to show that the code was there long prior to Rob ever being there. It is proven in a back up file from as early as April first.

I am trying to stay out of all this phplynx vs phpld - encrypted vs non encrypted stuff. I just don't want to comment on those and have no intention of doing so.

I just wanted to make absolutely clear that there was no possibility of this snippet being put there by Rob to slur a rival coder as was suggested in that comment.

I haven't got a clue about php coding an0n, and unlike you I don't profess to be an expert, in fact I don't even know how to navigate the admin area. I'll learn though but in my own time.

Now if the file your on about is as important as you make it out to be I'll refer to our programmers and deal with it accordingly which will include opening the code as to the best of my knowledge it was purely randomly selected nothing more.

I won't take your word for it though, judging by the way you answered the post you did a google like I would and came up with the nearest answer. I prefer to check with people who actually know, not people who think they know.

If you pick up on any more please feel free to point them out, your saving me a lot of grief by doing so, much appreciated, you can be really helpful at times.

@Swedal; Sorry, we were posting at the same time. Excuse me on that one, was reading through tired eyes. Glad you have it sorted out now which should have in theory closed this thread.

The encryption is main. The back-end coding is horrendous.
I am an OOP oriented individual and this script lacks it, badly

Doesn't esyndicat help upgrade anymore? Have you been in the latest version. That admin is nice. When we initially got into it over script back in the days, the ladder to esyndicat was better, but seeing esyndicat now compared to then is a complete 180.

OK, so you're trying to tell someone they don't know what they are talking about, and yet it is in fact YOU who doesn't know what they're talking about.
This is typical of you and your team. This is what keeps people away.

The file was not random, but one I patched myself long long ago. The reasoning was pasted from where I got notification, and would also provide the easy of ways to explain it for people like yourself who don't know anything about it, but can make a guess as to what they are explaining it does.

THIS is my point EXACTLY.... I DO NOT want to sit around here twiddling my thumbs hoping for others to patch something they can't even find.

And like i noted above, that was an example. Why can you and your people get things through your heads the first time? READ before you respond.

I absolutely agree and its something that is being dealt with by the invited developers as we speak, something to do with php creating html or something? Doesn't affect the functionality but doesn't look pretty was the words from my the coders I've brought in.

What you need to remember an0n is that I've inherited this script and there will be lots for me to learn and no doubt lots for me to get sorted and believe me I will do just that.

If you have comments then make them in a decent manner and without hi-jacking threads like this. As Bruce pointed out, this was about phpld and an error you found. If you find them with phpLynx you can take my word for it they will be dealt with just as swiftly.

So, lesson to be learned, you can waffle on as much as you want about this and that as it goes over my head, I'm here to change the code and script to make it as good as it can be and I'll achieve that like I do everything I work at. Your input is welcomed as long as its in a friendly manner.

I think this should put an end to this petty bickering don't you.

@Dog; Heaven forbid, yes, I plead guilty to that. Terrible isn't it. Goodnight.
