i think paypal will surely return all the funds back to your account
however you should contact those members who have been in that thread
and get the forum where he was asking everyone to post

You could get a virus that "steals" all your passwords. Hope everything works out for you!

Be also sure to renew your paypal password regulary
and make it as difficult as possible.

For the rest, use updated virus-scanners, firewall and
programs that blocks stealing personnal information (spyware, ....)

    Greetings

    Jason

Change your password then file disputes on those transactions, and if no answer is heard, then upgrade it to a claim. PayPal will generally automatically refund the sellers money with a claim.

This is a bit terrifying to know. Are there any updates on your dispute claim?

I received one of the payments back...the $2.50 from falguni1.

I also heard back from namecheap.com as I emailed them directly as well as going through Paypal with an unauthorised transaction claim. They have locked his account and I will be getting my money back.

That's the last time I will be visiting any websites linked from these forums...very disappointing.

thats great that you got one payment back
I am sure you will get all of them back
but plz don't blame dp for this
its a market place there are scammers in every market
and even it might not be because of dp that you lost your paypal account
so many members tried to help you in every way they can
it can happen in any forum no one can do anything about it
you have to take precautions for this

I'm not going to stop going to the fair just because of a few pickpockets. I'll just keep my wallet zipped-up tighter.

Well everything happens for a reason, you must have been careless in somewhere which has leaded hackers to get your password. Try relating some issues which may be possible for the leak of your password.

I haven't been careless...I mentioned in my thread in the General forum that I did a full scan and fouond "trojan.horst" which is the culrpit. It is one that you get from visiting a website...

SO this leads me to ask...was it a PURE (AMAZING) coincidence that someone on DP (out of everyone on the internet) managed to access my account detaisl with this trojan and use it to pay people on DP...I think not...I believe I visited a website linked from DP forums and got the trojan.

I'm not blaoming DP...they are great forums...I'm blaming the scamming, hacking scum that are on here...

I've emailed the guy, sent a PM on his own forum, but he hasn't sent anything back...how cowardly....

    I don't think it's a coincidence.

I asked earlier but you maybe missed it. What browser were you using, Scozzie?

I'm glad you made this thread, because it has prompted me to get better security on my computer, so you may have helped others by talking about it. One thing I hope is that Paypal will report him to the local legal authorities. This is not a small matter, this is serious fraud, and he could see some jail time for this.
