something big afoot..

Seems like the big G is having a mass reshuffle of sorts, here's what I've witnessed.

    1. Certain datacenter servers and ip's keep dropping for periods of time.
    2. The indexes are completely different accross all server's I've checked.
    3. Googlebot is doing massive crawls in "chunks" of new sites, I got 2500 pages crawled on one site alone in 8 hours.
    4. PR's are all over the place.
    5. Backlinks are all over the place (and have been for weeks) searching for link:domain.com no longer seems valid in any way, with "domain.com" showing all results.
    6. fickle serp's - perfect example i one of my sites has been 6th for a big term for months, over the past week it's moved been 2nd and 24th and hit many places in-between

seems to be servers in the 72.14.235 range that "seem" the most correct to me.

    thoughts or more info anybody?

I am way past the point where I monitor backlink changes and IP ranges.....All my time wasted doing that has not given me any extra knowledge or points.....Google rarely does big serp changes anymore, they do small changes all the time...

They also seem to be changing the number of pages for a search for example when you search for the term adult if the datacenter returns over 500 million results I am in the top 5, however some centers return only 220 million results and I am no where to be found in those results.

This has been going on for about 4 days for me

To be honest, I haven't any changes at all in either PR, backlinks or SERPs for the majority of my sites ( or at least the ones I have checked ).

However, I have seen that many members here are reporting increases in their PR, SERPs changing on a daily basis and much more. I guess all any of us can do is wait till the update ( or whatever the big G is doing ) and then assess the damage afterwards

I noticed the backlinks not showing up properly anymore for my site. link:domainname.com is definitely acting up as I know for a fact that I have more than 12 back links on my blog, thank you ;) with over 1500 pages indexed, I think I'd have more than 12 back links (which seem a bit off, by themselves, as most of which are random DP posts) :|

I started to notice some weird changes and fluctuations within the last 4 days. I just hope they fix it.

Also checking now, my "page rank" is varying on multiple data centers according to a few sites. I am getting anything from n/a to a 7 :| even though I know there is no way I can be a 7 ;) Even though the toolbar is showing 0.

Also another note: SEOlogs PR checker is showing forbidden pages from Google, mentioning something about "Your client does not have permission to get URL". hehe.

Big G is so unpredictable. One check of my site showed 26,000 indexed pages. Next-minute check is 7,000 indexed pages.

hmm.. I can completely relate. I lost over 50% of my indexed pages in a few days.. I thought I was slowly starting to get banned from Google, haha. -_-;; Then I noticed that link:domain.com didn't work anymore. (at least for me). Among a few other things.

Yep, 4 days ago, my traffic from Google fell to about 10-20%.

Something is definitely afoot, starting 4 days ago. :)

Ditto. but it looks like PR is being updated again... which... mind you... its a tad bit early... Either that or all their datacenters have fatal errors on them... lol... whichever. <_< I just hope they fix it soon.
