I think something is happening to google. i have a britney spears fansite, that was ranking page 3 or 4 in google for a long time. the fansite is listed on dmoz and has hundreds of quality backlinks. 2 weeks or 3 ago, i lost rankings from page 3 to page 15 or so, but then they got back to normal. Now last week i lost my rankings once again and im on page 20 my main keyword is Britney Spears and i was ranking really good for a big period. i think something is really changing on google. Did any of you have the same problem?
Have you been adding more backlinks and working on that constantly? Yes you probably were out completed..
i think content is not the deal. since the other fansites copy all the content from eachothers and i make original ones ( base on the sources) so it wont be duplicated.
Yes. It recently happened to me. I had a site that was #1 for almost a month. Now I can't find it in the first 10 pages. I stopped looking at that point! Stavra
It happens from time to time specially on Google. May be your competitors understand the Google algorithm better than you.
It seems Google is doing some moves in the index, might just be temporary. I have noticed some of my sites jumping from top 3 results to 20+, then back down in the top 10.
i have the same problem. i have dmoz listed web site lost its serp position nearly 2 weeks ago for the second time. i dont know what to do
i have the same prob. i lots rankings for the second time also. maybe google is filtering something ( as we are in dmoz) than it give us GOOD Positions
I had sites in the top ten for hyper competitive keywords that both disappeared completely, came back to where they were for about a week and now are gone again. I am not really digging the changes that Google is doing. I have also noticed that the new SERPS have gone back to being really bad and irrelevant for my industry lately. Time to go back and work on MSN and Yahoo!
i wanted to do that. ( work it out for msn and yahoo) but... whats the difference of working ur site to google or yahoo? isnt it the same thing?
google is always spidering things differently and its not uncommon to see many sites change positions so quickly. Probably, there are a ton of sites very closely positioned together, one week google can read you in a high positions and then when compared to other sites the next spider you are lowered. rankinsg can easily change every 2 or 3 days.
if you havent done SEOs for a long time, i think you have to redo it. google change their algo all the times so what you have done before might not work anymore. about the tricks and tips just try to search around the forums. ^^
