ive just got a vps with lxadmin and hypervm and dont have a clue what im doing as im used to working with cpanel, i thought this control panel would be a better choise as it takes up less resources as the vps is going to be used for proxies.

any way if you have experiance in these feilds how can i setup my name servers for my site thanks

Log in to the LX control panel. Create a default dns profile pointed at the correct IP number and tagged as ns1.yourdomain.com. Name it whatever you like, I used default. Host the domain in the domain section and point it to the default dns package. The system writes all the entries to the config files.

Then go to where your domain is registered and register a custom NS. All you are doing is saying ns1.mydomain is found at IP #. I can walk you through this part if your domain is at godaddy. They are all about the same.

Creating the custom NS at Godaddy is now a bit more complicated then it used to be. It is now done by adding a "host" at the bottom of the custom NS page.

There is another thread here under my user name dated late Dec 07 or Jan 08 where I corrected a prior post of mine about how to do it.
