got the same email and someone tried to hack my DP account but weird thing was i got the same exact email from SugarCRM. Both accounts are still stable. No one got in.
So, I received a notice today that someone had attempted 5+ times to login to my digitalpoint account. The attempt was made from a ip address that I traced to a "ThePlanet" box. Does anyone have any ideas how I could see what other sites/emails are linked to that box. I mainly want to see if the person trying to hack my account was someone I know or some random hacker. Thanks
it appears to be a random hacker, there was a post made the other day by someone asking if there is a list of members here, i remember they were a new member. and it looks like they are working down the list in alphabetical order. this thread List Of All The registered Users Of DP. ZhigZhig Peon Join Date: Aug 2007 Posts: 28 it might not have anything to do with it, but a strange request for a new member. but he asked 2 days ago and the hacking started 2 days ago.
Received the same email from DigitalPoint today and the individual trying to login had the same ip addy as others in this thread have already reported.
What sorta low lifes would need to hack a dp account, I mean really does the person think their is no other way to contact trusted DP members to deal with him?
in Dallas TX i called them on the phone, so have 5 other people, they cant do anything without logs and abuse report sent in
Shoot, if it's alphabetical, they're coming for me next...how will anyone know if it's me or the hacker? It's like the identical android problem...she'll even have my avatar, and I drew that by hand myself! Can they get you if you're logged in? I may have to stay online forever here!
looks alphabetical to me and that member that asked for the member list the day the hacking started lol samantha << i got a long way to go,
It's not really hacking at this stage is it? Just using your username to try and guess your password. So... make sure your password isn't "god", "guru" or something similarly inane and you should be ok.
I found some results through Google: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=74.53.243.34&btnG=Google+Search In addition, typing directly http://74.53.243.34 opens an authentication dialog that once cancelled displays a default Windows Server error page.
Same happened to my account on June 20, ip 70.86.138.114, and today, ip 74.53.243.34, just for the records
Great findings! Now we are half step away to catch this filthy identity theft (or group of them). I hope search on Yahoo and Live will close circle around person or persons unknown.
I just received a email: Dear alexzin, Your account on Digital Point Forums has been locked because someone has tried to log into the account with the wrong password more than 5 times. You will be able to attempt to log in again in another 15 minutes. The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 74.53.243.34 Don't forget that the password is case sensitive. Forgotten your password? Use the link below: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/login.php?do=lostpw All the best, Digital Point Forums Is it any possible to find out who did this?
I've gotten about 30 emails from DigitalPoint, all saying the same thing. Could something be done about this, please? I'm sick of this person (or thing) trying to get into my account.
