Here's my next question though... On ebay a bunch of guys are selling like PR6or PR7 sites for like 60 bucks or less. Now why would they be selling the sites for soo cheap..??? Did they buy these sites as expired domains and they still had PR to them? Or did they have a bunch of super strong sites and they just link to the ones they want to sell (till it gets page rank) Sell the site, then pull the backlinks????

but sell it before the pagerank goes down... hmmm.

Thanks for your kind words.. This whole thing is a bit of learning for me as well. Though I have 9 years experience doing web development this type of advertising scheme I have never looked into so I learned something. What even made me test this whole thing is the fact of the person having numerous positive feedbacks selling this item. It blows my mind that people did not realize that after getting their traffic that they had no sales increase or no email opt ins or anything. If this guy does have a big powerful site somewhere he is gonna put me on the damn homepage with a search engine friendly text link or he is gonna get his first negative feedback.

Well, this could be fact for all the scenarios that you just stated. I have seen this type of thing too. Again if it smells like poo then it probably smell worse once you step in it. There is probably a number of reasons they may be selling at that price. What ever the reason it sounds shady for sure. I am not gonna buy that one to test it though..lol.. On average a PR6 website based on its page rank, back links, monthly traffic and whether it is a .gov or .edu website all plays a factor into the price.. Typically a fair price for a PR6 website can be anywhere from 5k to 9k. That would be if you were buying the entire website though. Don't get me wrong though some websites have PR6 because they just have a lot of content that the search engines like to spider. Does not really mean there site is worth a hoot. I do pretty well by looking at a site and giving a pretty close estimate of what it is worth.. I thought about opening up a website where people can submit there sites to be professionally quoted on what it is worth if they wanted to sell it. Maybe I will one day this year.

I spent a lot of time on ebay looking at all the advertising listings and if I can offer any helpful advise it would be this.. If you are looking for anything of value for your website then you probably shouldn't look on Ebay. Very very rarely do I see a legit advertising listing that is a legit offer.

The domains really do have the pagerank though... Im just wondering how, and why they would be selling them.. IT WOULD BE GREAT IF IT WERE PERMANENT, but they have a disclaimer, like they are not responsible if pagerank goes down.. that was the red flag for me.

Probably just fake pagerank...redirect some names to PR6 websites with a 301 Re-direct and then sell those domains on eBay after they've acquired the PR.

I sent a message to this guy and asked him how my ads are being displayed just to see what he would say... I will have a quote from him later when ebay stops acting a fool.. In a nutshell though he told me it was being advertised in interstitial ads.. He then gave me some examples of sites that use these type of ads but would not show me where my ads were actually being displayed. I have a crappy feeling he might be a part of this thread... Maybe Im wrong though.. Its just that he has failed to give me my positive buyer feedback since I paid instantly there is no reason to give otherwise...

What do you guys think would be more effective? Giving this guy his first negative feedback and then hope he bribes me for mutual removal or just send him a message telling him he is getting negative feedback and hopes he offers a more legit deal?

If so what can this guy possibly have to offer? Clearly has an awful site that I have seen so the only thing I know is money.. He seems to pride is 100 percent positive feedback in his auctions.

    Any thoughts?

If you're mainly a buyer on ebay, a neg or two won't affect you nearly as badly as a seller, unless you have a feedback of like, 3. Go for the negative, he'll probably retaliate with one, but you shouldn't have a problem.

Anyways, gave you some green for taking one for the team!

I would stay away from this one if I were you. I did something like this off ebay from a user who had good feedback. The traffic came from a paid-to-surf site and almost got my adsense account canned. Also most of the traffic came from places like India, Russian and Brazil...

I recently asked him to give me my feedback and then I would do the same for him.. I then said thanks...

    Here is his reply..

"My system is set up to automatically leave postive feedback whenever it is recieved. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you"

Then Here is my reply back to that

"Ok I am going to be blunt about this.. We both know that is crap.. Neither one of us is new to this whole thing.. As well I know your system of sending visitors to my website is junk as well. I have 9 years experience being a webmaster and specializing in programming in development. None of the visitors that you send ever interact with the site. None of them ever click the first thing. I am assuming my site is showing somewhere in an iframe in a one pixel block or something. Or worse I am getting start page, or auto hit traffic.. As well there is a whole forum topic revolving around this ordeal at Digital Point forums.. One of the nets largest webmaster forums.. Chances are you might be a part of it. You might not who knows. Either way how are we going to resolve this? I am either going to give you negative feedback and then I assume you will do the same for me just because I leave negative for you. When really all I had to do is pay for the item which I did right away. What do we do?"

Actually he did reply back rather quickly.. He maintained a professional stature and did in fact offer to refund my money.. For my own benefit I was inclined to accept..

    I love this sentence!!!!

Quality websites all over the internet that provide us with EXCESS VISITORS

You know, I hate it when I get too much traffic. Let me send my excess traffic else where. Ads are overrated.

Buying traffic is a bad idea - even if $18 is chum change to see if this actually works. The whole redirecting process has flaws. How will this guy get traffic from one site to yours. Is he posting an advertising campaign on your behalf? Most likely he is getting unwilling traffic to your site - if he does manage the 75K.
I know curiousity killed the cat, but now it also took your $18.
